Official Rules
1. How to Enter
Beginning September 29, 2008 and ending on December 31, 2008 11:59pm PST., any one person who submits an completed submission form for the "Simple Shoes Video" sweepstakes on simpleshoes.com/contests/video [this URL not final] will be eligible to win should they and their video fit the below Eligibility requirements. Submissions must be received by 11:59pm PST on December 31, 2008 11:59pm PST. Limit one submission per person for the duration of the contest.
2. Eligibility
This promotion is open only to residents of the 50 United States and the District of Columbia who are 18 years of age or older at time of entry. Minors must have parent/legal guardian permission to participate. Employees of Deckers Outdoor Corporation and their respective affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising, promotion and internet agencies and their immediate family members and/or those living in the same household of each are not eligible. All federal, state and local laws and regulations apply. Void where prohibited or restricted by law. Content on your website must be comprised of original work with no claims of ownership which can be asserted by third parties, with the exception of the videos subject of this sweepstakes which are the sole property of Sponsor. You acknowledge that no rights to the Sponsor's video(s) or content contained, is granted to you as a participant except for the limited purposes as stated herein SHOULD ANY CLAIMS BE ASSERTED AGAINST SPONSOR BY ANY THIRD PARTIES, YOU WILL INDEMNIFY SPONSOR FOR ANY DAMAGES.
You must embed one of two videos to your own personal webpage. The two choices are listed below along with the code needed for embedding. The embedded video must be live at the time of the drawing(s) to be eligible to win. You must give us the URL to your webpage that has the embedded video as part of your submission.
You agree to remove the video(s) immediately when advised to so by Sponsor.

3. Winners chosen
There will be seven drawings and seven winners. Winners will be chosen on the following dates at 4:00pm PST on those dates:
- 10-17-2008
- 10-31-2008
- 11-14-2008
- 11-28-2008
- 12-12-2008
- 12-31-2008
4. Prizes & Approximate Retail Values
Seven prize winners will each receive one Simple Shoes product of their choice. The estimated approximate retail value of one item ranges from $24-$150 USD depending on the winner's choice.
5. General Rules
No substitution or transfer of prize by winner permitted. Sponsor reserves the right to substitute prize of equal or greater value. By accepting prize, winner (or parent/legal guardian if winner is deemed a minor in his/her state of residence) agrees to hold Sponsor, Deckers Outdoor Corporation, and their respective, subsidiaries, affiliates directors, officers, employees and assigns, harmless against any and all claims and liability arising out of use of prize. Winner (or parent/legal guardian if winner is a minor) assume all liability for any injury or damage caused, or claimed to be caused, by participation in this promotion or use or redemption of any prize. Acceptance of prize constitutes permission to the Sponsor and its agencies to use winners' names and/or likenesses for purposes of advertising and trade without further compensation, unless prohibited by law. Entrants (or parent/legal guardian if entrant is a minor) agree to release, discharge and hold harmless Sponsor, Deckers Outdoor Corporation, and their respective subsidiaries, affiliates directors, officers, employees and assigns, harmless from and against any and all liability and damages. By participating in this promotion, entrants (or parent/legal guardian if entrant is a minor) agree to be bound by the Official Rules and the decisions of the judges which are final. In the event there is a discrepancy or inconsistency between disclosures or other statements contained in any contest materials and the terms and conditions of the Official Rules, the Official Rules shall prevail, govern and control. All material submitted becomes the sole property of Sponsor and will not be returned. Sponsor shall have the right to use and exploit the submission as it chooses. You hereby grant Sponsor the right, but not the obligation, to post a link to your website on Sponsor's website. Sponsor not responsible for any typographical or other error in the printing of the offer, administration of the sweepstakes or in the announcement of the prizes. In no event will more than the stated number of prizes be awarded. Winners are responsible for paying any applicable taxes, surcharges and other fees. 1099's and/or other appropriate IRS forms will be issued by Sponsor for such prize if applicable. By submitting an online submission and providing your email address, you are agreeing to receive email notifications from Deckers Outdoor Corporation.
6. Notice to Online Entrants
ANY ATTEMPT BY AN INDIVIDUAL TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE ANY WEB SITE OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THIS PROMOTION IS A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS, AND SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, SPONSOR RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK DAMAGES FROM ANY SUCH INDIVIDUAL TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW. Sponsor is not responsible for faulty, incorrect or mistranscribed phone transmissions, incorrect announcements of any kind, technical hardware or software failures of any kind including any injury or damage to any person's computer related to or resulting from participating in or experiencing any materials in connection with the promotion, lost or unavailable network connections, or failed, incomplete, garbled or delayed computer transmission that may limit a user's ability to participate in the promotion. Sponsor reserves the right to cancel or modify the promotion if fraud, misconduct or technical failures destroy the integrity of the program; or if a computer virus, bug, or other technical problem corrupts the administration, security, or proper administration of the program as determined by Sponsor/judging agency/administrator, in their sole discretion. In the event of termination, a notice will be posted online and the drawing for all unawarded prizes will be conducted from among all eligible entries received prior to termination. Any damage made to the Web Site will be the responsibility of the authorized e-mail account holder of the e-mail address submitted at the time of entry. Proof of submitting entries will not be deemed to be proof of receipt by Sponsor. Any use of robotic, automatic, programmed or the like methods of participation will void all such submissions by such methods. Sponsor reserves the right to prohibit the participation of an individual if fraud or tampering is suspected or if the account holder fails to comply with any requirement of participation as stated herein or with any provision in these Official Rules.
